Manager of Merchandising Strategy & Sales Operations

Role

Working closely with the CEO and the SDMs the Manager of Merchandising Strategy & Operations plays a key role in the deployment of the Merchandising strategy for independent sales representatives (Merchandisers) across the country. This person is responsible for driving large scale Merchandising initiatives from conception to completion. The Merchandising Strategy & Sales Operations Manager will serve as a centralized point of contact for the SDMs and work directly with these sales management experts/leaders to create a timely and scalable process for attracting, selecting, on-boarding, training, and continuously supporting highly engaged and performing Merchandisers. This role requires a well-rounded entrepreneurial skill set to grow a business quickly and soundly. The right fit will be someone who can develop analytical insights, apply creative problem-solving skills, and provide innovative solutions to influence and/or lead cross-functional teams. This individual should be comfortable with process definition and improvement and bring the ability to interact and communicate with peers and senior leadership across an evolving organization to influence outcomes driving the Merchandising business forward. This individual should be comfortable managing in an ambiguous environment and prioritizing and guiding the analysis and delivery of projects from across the organization in support of the Merchandising team.

Responsibilities

  • Shape guide and deliver key projects and analysis to support the Merchandising community.
  • Forge partnerships across the organization to directly support consistent, quality growth of the merchandising community.
  • Provide thought leadership and analytical support to senior management and SDM’s to identify needed initiatives/projects , lead problem solving efforts, and influence a course of action based on both cross-functional recommendations and specific business need.
  • Drive Merchandising strategy based on qualitative and quantitative analysis of Merchandiser sales, needs, and market places needs.
  • Assess the status of Merchandising infrastructure with respect to efficiency and effectiveness and continuously improve the infrastructure as necessary and beneficial to the organization.
  • Provide analytic support to process development and improvement efforts .
  • Lead and manage direct and indirect teams; coach and develop team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from a top school.
  • MBA Preferable
  • 5 years project management experience
  • 3 years people management/leading teams
